The Ark is the only wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center in all of Northeast Florida, covering eight counties and supporting over 4,000 birds annually. For founder Karen Ward-Lynch, the job has become her life’s purpose.
What started out as rescuing a baby bird turned into a lifelong mission. With every rescue, Ward-Lynch gives the animals a chance for a longer and healthier life. However, these efforts would not be possible without the help of volunteers, who allow for this important mission to continue.
In this video, Ward-Lynch also speaks about how the fast-growing development of St. Johns County and the surrounding areas has made her job even more crucial.
