The Florida vs. Georgia football game, formerly known as “the world’s largest outdoor cocktail party”, has taken place every year since 1992 on the last weekend of October.
Many Flagler College students make the 45-minute trek up i95 to experience something Flagler can’t offer, college football game day’s and all of the festivities that go along with them.

Flagler College women’s head volleyball Coach Taylor Mott has announced her resignation, effective at the end of the year. Mott and her family will relocate to Tennessee where her husband, Brian, has taken a job.

The Saints advanced to the semifinals of the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 1, after shutting out USC Aiken 4-0.
Flagler College remains 3-0 in Peach Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinals since joining the league in 2009.

The Flagler College men’s cross country team finished sixth of nine teams in last Saturday’s Peach Belt Conference Men’s Cross Country Championships, held at Pacer Path on the campus of USC Aiken.

Cameron and Brittany began playing soccer at the age of five, using their older sister and father who played soccer as an inspiration.

Back in St. Augustine back after playing professional basketball in Ireland, Ben De La Cruz is the new Flagler College men’s basketball assistant coach.
De La Cruz recently took on the part time position after the last assistant coach, Rob Reyes, got offered a job to play professional basketball in the Philippines.
De La Cruz, though, is not new to Flagler. He was a four year player and graduated in 2009.

The Flagler College women’s soccer team concluded its regular season with a win on senior night against conference opponent Georgia College last Saturday.
“The win Saturday was the best feeling all season,” Rebekah Stockowski, senior captain, said. “I have been the only person who has been on the team for four years, and we have never won a senior night since I have been here. Winning on mine was an awesome feeling.”

The Flagler College women’s volleyball team immediately fell behind in its match against Florida Southern College on Sunday losing its first two sets. The Saints then rallied to win the next three sets, winning the match 3-2. (17-25, 22-25, 25-20, 28-26, 15-10)
“We did not play our best game in those first two sets,” Olivia Snipes, senior setter, said. “In the first set, I don’t know if it was nerves or excitement but we were making careless errors that ultimately caused us the first loss. In the second set, we let Florida Southern go on too many big point runs. We actually started the second game ahead by 5 or 6 points and allowed them to slowly crawl back into the game.”

The Flagler College men’s soccer team will look to continue their excellent season on Tuesday, Nov. 1st as they begin the Peachbelt Conference Tournament. As of last week, Flagler only knew that the challenger would be the team in the eighth playoff position. But after Saturday’s matches, the regular season concluded and USC Aiken emerged as Flagler’s opponent.
