United Way of St. Johns County is holding its 2nd Annual “Walk 5K for United Way” fund-raising event on March 1.
On-site registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m. The route is a scenic stroll through beautiful downtown St. Augustine that begins and ends at Flagler College.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register for $10, which includes a free T-shirt. On-site registration is $15 and a T-shirt is not guaranteed the day of the event.
Registration forms can be obtained at the United Way office or can be found around town at local banks, gyms and businesses such as Smoothie King, Flagler’s Legacy and Schmagel’s Bagels.
Proceeds from the fund-raiser go towards supporting the local United Way, which in turn supports its partner agencies such as the Betty Griffin House, Big Brothers — Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, the Council on Aging and many other nonprofit agencies.
