The Flagler College women’s golf team wrapped up its regular season with a seventh place finish in the first annual Barry Bucs Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon at Shula’s Golf Club.
The Saints’ 54-hole total for the tournament was 970.
Third-ranked Florida Southern College placed first in the seven-team field with a 17-over par 881. They out-distanced fourth-ranked Lynn University by 19 strokes.
Heather Burgner of Florida Southern, ranked sixth nationally, earned medalist honors after carding a 2-under 214. She was the only golfer in the 36-women field to break par.
Kaitlyn Edwards led Flagler with a 14-over 230 to finish in a tie for 14th place while Elin Karlsson tied for 28th place with a 26-over 242. Meredith Beykirch shot a 245 to finish in a tie for 30th and Laura Martellino carded a 253 to place 33rd.
Samantha Smith rounded out the field with a 291.
Flagler, ranked 36th nationally, will wait and see if the team or individuals will be selected to compete in the NCAA Division II South Regionals which will be held May 2-5 at Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla.
