Flagler women’s basketball coach hopes team can get back on track

The Flagler women’s basketball team continues their struggles with their recent home loss to Montevallo.
The Saints are now a disappointing 2-17 on the season, with a current seven game losing streak.
Coming into the season, the Saints expectations were very high.

Flagler College women’s head volleyball Coach Taylor Mott has announced her resignation, effective at the end of the year. Mott and her family will relocate to Tennessee where her husband, Brian, has taken a job.
Brother and sister excelling for Flagler’s soccer teams

Cameron and Brittany began playing soccer at the age of five, using their older sister and father who played soccer as an inspiration.
Standing Strong

With his hands around my neck, I looked up at the man standing in front of me, and for a split second I didn’t know what to do. Running through the list of moves I just learned, I sandwiched my hands against his palm and shoved his arms off of me to the applause of the other women in my group. “Good job,” he said, before walking over to the woman standing next to me and testing her with another move.
Outside of the Virginia Room, it was a scenario that I always carried in the back of my mind but assumed would never happen. I would like to think I could defend myself, but barely reaching five feet I knew it was unlikely.
Students embrace new Flagler pep band

The Flagler College athletic department is starting a Flagler pep band to increase the enthusiasm of the crowd at home games.
Jud Damon, Director of Athletics at Flagler College, is the originator of the idea and hopes that it will bring a more exciting atmosphere.
Flagler College students have already shown interest.
Ryan Erlacher, assistant Athletic Director, has high hopes for the pep band’s success at future basketball home games.
Flagler students speak out on dietary supplements

Three martial art styles, numerous Cross-Fit routines and one broken foot later, Carly Lupo is a fighter.
The psychology major trains mixed martial arts five days a week, constantly in and out of Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing and open mat sessions at the Combat Club in St Augustine. In July she broke her foot, but still worked on her boxing and sparring skills while healing. She also lifts weights at Planet Fitness and does a Cross-Fit routine includes box jumps, farmer’s walk, medicine ball wall ball, push-ups, burpees, four-count sit ups, kettle bell swings, and push press.
Loren Cate and Lindsay Zullo look to get the women’s soccer team back on track
By {Jaycob Ammerman} | gargoyle@flagler.eduThe Flagler College women’s soccer team started off their season with an impressive 6-2 record behind the stellar play of juniors Lindsay Zullo and Loren Cate. Now the great play of Zullo has helped her achieve her first Peach Belt Conference offensive player of the week honors.
“I felt honored to be chosen since there are a lot of really good players in our conference,” she said.
