Juggling Act: Finding balance between a special-needs daughter and a soccer team

Juggling a demanding profession with a strong family life is challenging for anyone, but a day in the life of Teddy Meyer may be more hectic than many caneven imagine.

Teddy Meyer is in his eighth season as the head women’s soccer coach at FlaglerCollege and up until the summer of last year, his seemingly chaotic life was relatively normal for any collegiate coach; daily practices, recruiting duties, scouting reports, then putting all coaching aside to go home to a wife and son.


Planned academic building runs into resident opposition

Residents like Robert Hall want Flagler College to build more learning space on campus, but they don’t want students looking into the bed and breakfast across the street.

“It’s the commercial versus the residents,” said Hall, a resident of downtown St. Augustine and a retired Flagler College Art Department chair, “and the people who are living there are generally in favor of the smaller building.”


From ballerina to pilates instructor: A look into the life of a local performer

Being active is a key to a fulfilled life, and Jennifer Dournaux, a former dancer and Power Pilates mat certified instructor at Flagler College, is doing just that.

Jennifer Dournaux, or Jen, as she is known to her students, is a retired ballerina who turned her passion for pilates into a career. Dournaux started ballet at the age of 3, and in high school, danced for the Orlando Ballet.


Saints fall short, but prove they can compete

The Flagler College Saints volleyball team showed that they were not a pushover Tuesday night against No. 7 (AVCA Division II Top 25) University of Tampa.

The Spartans of Tampa defeated Flagler College 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21) at the Flagler Gymnasium.




Flagler starts year on new ground

With the completion of Hanke Hall, the continuing renovations to Wiley Hall and plans for a new academic building on the property where the Communications building now sits, the college is stirring dust on projects that have been on the planning board for years.
