A Flagler College student’s car was allegedly stolen on Wednesday.
JD Bray, a Communication major, said his black two-door 2000 Ford Explorer was stolen from where he parked it across the street from his off-campus house at 312 Saint George St.

Tori Warenik’s persistence paid off.
Warenik, a junior, pushed Flagler College’s English department to consider adding a Creative Writing major with the help of Dr. Jim Wilson, Dr. Tamara Wilson and more than 100 students. She said she’s been fighting for the new major for about a year, but other students and faculty, she said, have been trying since 1989.

In a nearly two-hour meeting on Tuesday, SGA elected the first chair of the Green Committee and introduced the second chair of Publicity and Parliamentarian. SGA also approved two new clubs.
Chuck Riffenburg won the election for first chair of the Green Committee. He ran against sophomore Kyle Jennette. Riffenburg also serves as the CitySprout Coordinator for Flagler College.

Jim Wilson stepped up as vice chair of the Faculty Senate and will be responsible for making sure the faculty has a voice on campus.
The most crucial part of his job, he said, is running the constitution committee, a group that makes sure all of the bylaws of the Senate are followed and updated.

Comedian Adam Ace gives college students a chance to turn their brains off, laugh and get back to their schoolwork with a smile.
Ace tours the U.S. with stops at more than 400 colleges.
He said he tries to use comedy where students don’t have to think much. “I want them to be able to stop thinking about stresses from school and just turn their brains off and laugh,” Ace said.

Sailor Cher is not afraid of losing her job.
She curses and struts around in a mini skirt and stilettos, proudly displaying the colorful ink all over her body. At age 57, Sailor Cher has such a confident and vivacious personality that is hard not to stare in wonder.

A new Baja Mexican style taco shop opened on Saint George Street early September.
The Taco Shop’s owner, Nicolas Kimball, said he learned most of the recipes featured on the menu in fourth grade on “bring your mom to work day.” He grew up with food and wanted to have a place where others could share his love for tacos.

Cash McVay is finally seeing his group’s idea come to fruition.
McVay, 39, is one of the directors of CitySprout, a local organization dedicated to promoting energy conservation by planting community gardens in St. Augustine. This August, CitySprout finished building the perimeter fence and laying the dirt for the Lincolnville Community Garden, a 900-square foot plot located at the Eddie L. Vickers Recreational Facility in Lincolnville.
