After being the preseason favorites and having an impressive 14-win season last year, the Flagler College men’s soccer team experienced a devastating loss in the Peach Belt Conference Championship game to the Falcons of Montevallo and a season ending loss to Clayton State in the NCAA D2 Tournament.
The Gargoyle staff won 10 awards this past year for everything from features on homelessness to news stories about bullying to opinion touching on veterans issues. In fact, in one year the online newspaper won more awards than it has in its entire history.

New Florida Gov. Rick Scott has always said that he knows what is best for Florida education. His new law, the Student Success Act makes standardized tests the main evaluation tool for teachers’ abilities. And, he says it weeds out the fruitless ones.
Contrary to Scott’s belief, this law is everything but the best choice for our state’s suffering education system.
