Red Jumpsuit Apparatus plays Cafe 11 on Florida tour

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus rocked the crowd at the Original Cafe 11 last Wednesday on their tour for their latest album, “Am I the Enemy?”

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus was formed in Middleburg, Fla. and so the alternative rock band kicked off their Florida tour in St. Augustine last Wednesday.

The band is comprised of vocalist Ronnie Winter, bassist Joey Westwood, lead guitarist Josh Burke, rhythm guitarist Randy Winter and drummer Kristopher Comeaux.

They opened the night with “Reap,” a song off their latest single. Their newest album, “Am I The Enemy?” displays a more electronic sound to their music. “We put a lot of cool digital effects in which is different from the last two records. We’re all big fans of Nine Inch Nails, Linkin Park and Skrillex,” Ronnie Winter said.

The band will be on tour in Florida for the rest of February.

“The best part about touring is seeing the world and experiencing different cultures first hand. I don’t think that will ever get old. It’s life changing and gives you an entirely new perspective of our world,” Randy Winter said.

The band enjoys the energy the fans give off when they perform. “We like people to sing along, clap, dance and have a good time,” Ronnie said.

This energy could be seen when Ronnie played old and new songs acoustically. They released an acoustic album right before they left Virgin Records, titled “Unplugged and Unaffected.” The record did well, however, it can only be bought exclusively at concerts. Since the record was successful, the band is in the process of recording certain songs off every album to make it available for everyone.

“We really enjoy doing acoustic performances and their raw nature,” Randy said.

The band closed with night with their most well known song “Face Down” and told the crowd they would be back at Cafe Eleven again.
