The Flagler men’s golf team has found a standout player in junior Ian Hoffman.
Hoffman, from New Smyrna Beach, Fla. is going to have an important role as the team moves to the NCAA. Currently Hoffman is ranked number 108 in the NAIA and third in the Florida Sun Conference.
Men’s golf coach, Don Robbins, thinks Hoffman has a very different type of game than many golfers his age.
“His golf game has matured. That’s why I think he’s such a good player. He has learned to manage his game. He knows when to play it safe,” Robbins said.
Hoffman has finished in the top 10 on a steady basis and was first last October at Savannah College of Art and Design.
“I hope to lead my team to a national title in our last year in the NAIA,” Hoffman said.
After college, Hoffman hopes to earn qualifications to play on the PGA Tour.
