Volleyball sweeps powerhouse Armstrong Atlantic to claim PBC Tournament

AIKEN, S.C. − Meg Weathersby (Maitland, Fla./Orangewood Christian) recorded a match-high 13 kills on 30 errorless swings for a .433 attack percentage to help lead Flagler College to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-23) win over Armstrong Atlantic State University Sunday afternoon in the championship match of the 2009 Peach Belt Conference Tournament at the Convocation Center. Flagler is in its first year as a member of the Peach Belt.

Men’s soccer loss ends great season

The Flagler College Saints (14-6-2, 7-1-0 PBC) lost 4-0 to Wingate University (13-4-1, 6-1-1 SAC) of the South Atlantic Conference in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional. The Saints seven match unbeaten streak ended and their best season in many years came to a close.





Men’s soccer roll into postseason, ready for Wingate

The men’s soccer team will battle Wingate University in the first round of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional tonight. The match comes as a result of the NCAA Division II selection show where Flagler was drawn to compete. The Saints consider this game as a chance to avenge their recent loss by penalty kick shootout against Lander University in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Flagler College men’s soccer team (14-5-2), the Peach Belt Conference regular season champions, will take on Wingate University (12-4-1) of the South Atlantic Conference Wednesday night at 7 p.m., in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional at the WU Soccer Complex in Wingate, N.C.

Kevin Partel shifts roles to help the Saints win

Kevin Partel scored 113 goals and tallied 36 assists in his high school career.

He was an offensive force. Yet until this year, he had little playing time for the Flagler College Men’s Soccer team. A position change altered everything.

Partel, a junior, got a chance to play sweeper early this season. He has been starting since.
