The latest trend in St. Augustine isn’t tight jeans, neon v-necks or multicolored Ray-Bans. It’s bicycles.

Bicycles are blowing up the streets of St. Augustine like the Fourth of July and no one is holding anything back. Imagine Martha Stewart on an episode of West Coast Customs: Bicycle Editions. That’s basically what’s rolling around the streets of downtown.

New sushi joint has students choosing Spy

You’d better watch out Fusion Point and Yamato, there’s a new sushi bar in town, and it looks like this one is rolling for keeps.

Spy Sushi and Saketini Lounge, located at 21 Hypolita Street (or the old Crab Grabbers, for you locals), has just recently opened its doors. So far, the local reviews are Sake-ing it to the previously best-rated sushi bars in St. Augustine.

For Ray Eme, The Movement was not just about having fun and performing respective arts in the name of God. It turned out to be more than that when the non-Christian community of Flagler College attended the March event.

The Movement was a weeklong event that held a religious panel, various nights of performances and a final dinner.

Curb side Shopping

Well folks, the end is near.

For some, it will be a short break before classes begin over summer, but for others – it’s the end for a while.

People are moving in and out of houses and balancing final exams and portfolios. It’s hard to move out of a house, but think of this as the season of opportunity.

Rochelle’s features trunk show

By Jaclyn Miklos | gargoyle@flagler.edu

The glitz, the glam, the sparkles and the funk of Tarino Tarantino made a stunning scene at Rochelle’s Trunk show on Saturday, March 28.
Rochelle’s fashion boutique has been one of St. Augustine’s fashion hot spots since the 80s. The store held a trunk show to showcase the famous Tarino Tarantino’s new jewelry collection inspired by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson’s book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

“We hold these trunk shows twice a year,” said owner Tom Rochelle. “I think they are a hot because everyone can wear Tarantino accessories. During Christmas time we do another trunk show, we try to hold them at least twice a year, usually featuring Tarantino’s new lines.”

Restaurant Review: The Gourmet Hut

By Desiree Hahn | gargoyle@flagler.edu

Visit the Gourmet Hut for an exquisite outing and enjoy a pleasurable meal consisting of a variety of meal options including bagels, sandwiches and salads. Enjoy a scrumptious sandwich to order or try a Breakfast Burrito from the all day breakfast menu.

I recommend the Avocado Delight, at only $4.95, it’s a delicious meal including an avocado sandwich, a side of tortilla chips and choice from variety of hummus dips. Meals are reasonably priced, averaging about $5 to $6 per meal.

Although Orlando street punk band The Angst were left stranded on Interstate 4 with a flat tire and had to cancel their performance, St. Augustine punk and metal band All Disaster rocked a strong local crowd at Nobby’s on Saturday, March 20.
