Are you ready to put your athletic abilities to the ultimate test and win some prizes?
Sport Event Productions is proud to invite you to the 6th Annual Beach Blast at the St. Augustine Pier. The event will be held Sunday, March 29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Beach Blast ’09 will offer a 5k Run, Volleyball Tournament and a Surf Contest. These events are open to anyone to participate. All events will include trophies and prizes rewarded to the top athletes/teams.
Adam Muller, member of Sport Event Productions and the Flagler Surf Team, has high hopes for the Beach Blast. “I wanted to run this event for quite some time now and it’s finally our time and everyone is pumped and ready to do it,” Muller said.
The Beach Blast will also include live entertainment and food, as well as clothing vendors on location. The “Kids Korner” is a place for kids to take part in fun activities such as face-painting, T-shirt tie-dye and a hula-hoop contest.
The Art Expo will host a designer show at the Pier, featuring local artists, designers, and clothing companies to join in on the action.
The surf contest will include a jet-ski tow-it event as well, where you can watch surfers get whipped into waves at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. This event is a sight to see.
The Beach Blast is completely run by students in Sport Event Productions. The event will include fun and active entertainment for the entire community.
“The event is targeted for the beach community, but at the same time contributes back to the West King Street community,” Muller said.
So come on down, and be the next contestant on Beach Blast ’09. For more information on entry fees and events, visit http://www.flaglerspm.com/beachblast.htm.
