The Career Services Department has undergone several changes for the new semester, including a new director, Jenny Preffer.
Preffer, who is expecting her fourth child next month, moved to St. Augustine from Virginia Beach, Va. in September 2006, and had no intentions of working.
However, when she came across the newspaper advertisement for the soon-to-be vacant position, she was curious.

“Disarmingly catchy” is the best phrase I can think of to describe The Sweet Escape. As much as the little music elitist in me wanted to hate it (In fact, when I was assigned the review, I said “Whomever told Gwen Stefani that she could leave No Doubt should definitely be fired.”), I mostly just found myself bobbing my head along with the beats.

It’s time to throw your G’s up with the release of Lil Scrappy’s first single debut album, Bred 2 Die Born to Live. This album truly brings “money in the bank.”
This album has an all star line up of collaborations. Scrappy, of BME and Lil Jon fame, has also joined up with 50 Cent and G-Unit to make this album an eclectic mix of a Southern crunk vibe twisted with the catchy, mainstream beats that are G-Unit. Collaborating with the likes of Yung Joc, Young Buck, Olivia, 50 Cent, Three 6 Mafia, Bo Hagon, Young Dro and Lil Jon, how could Scrappy possibly go wrong?

Shifting from a desire to construct the “nuclear family” (a husband, wife and 2.5 kids) in the 1950s, America has now branched out into literally thousands of ideals, beliefs and points of view on how the “American Dream” should look.

When the $11.6 million student center opens next fall, Molly’s Café, one of the College’s two dining options, will also relocate to the new site. The café will receive a new name and menu in addition to the change in location.
According to Mark Stamper, director of food services at Flagler College, the café will be a “food court-style concept” with separate deli, grill and Starbuck’s coffee stations. The center of the shop will also have a section of convenience store items.

After 16 years, the Flagler College language lab has received a much needed update.
The college’s new American Sign Language equipment was installed last fall and is the second of its kind in the United States, the first being in Indiana.

Flagler College Students in Free Enterprise is presenting Avant Garbage, an eco-friendly art exhibit on Friday, March 2, at 5 p.m. on the West Lawn.
Artists and wanna-be artists are encouraged to create art for the Avant Garbage Art Show using reused products for their construction. The Avant Garbage exhibit will coincide with First Friday Art Walk.
