U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Labor, Elaine Chao, Speaks on Transportation and Innovation of the Future.

By Hannah Duffey

U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Labor, Elaine Chao, speaks on transportation and innovation of the future. Chao was the first Asian American and Islander Pacific woman appointed to the President’s cabinet in U.S. history. She is the 24th U.S. Secretary of Labor and 18th U.S. Secretary of Transportation. We had the opportunity to talk about innovation & transportation of the future. But most importantly, what it meant for her to be the first female appointed to both positions. As a journalist who covers breaking barriers not only in the sports realm but in every walk of life, this allowed me to bring the interview into a light that women around the world can relate to.
