The Flagler College Theatre Department will debut its Summer Theatre Production, Sam Shephard’s A Lie of the Mind, on Friday, June 15, in the Flagler College Auditorium.
The production, directed by Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Andrea McCook, will be performed from June 15-17, at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, June 18, at 2 p.m., in the Flagler College Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for general admission and will be available at the door one hour prior to the show.
The play will feature Flagler students Jennifer Cook, Amanda Hughlett, Gabe Jacobs-Klerstein, Kevin McNeal, Zephian Michaels, Lauren Padzer, Jayme Ratzer, Gerard Siegler and Craig Walsh.
A Lie of the Mind originally debuted on Broadway in 1985 starring Harvey Keitel, Amanda Plummer and Aidan Quinn. The play focuses on the story of two families, one living in California and the other in Montana, that are tied together by the violent relationship between Jake, the son of one family, and Beth, the daughter of the other.
Audiences should be aware that the play deals with adult themes such as violence and alcoholism, and will contain some adult language.
