Moving past interruptions from Hurricane Matthew,  “God of Carnage” hits Flagler College’s stage this week.

The Tony award-winning comedy, written by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton, focuses on two parents who meet after a confrontation between their sons.Their cordial discussion spirals into irrational arguments, sparking chaos.

Despite the loss of over a week of rehearsal time due to Hurricane Matthew, the cast “got right right back into the swing of things,” said Department Chair Andrea McCook.

The cast consists of four actors: Junior Kelsee Russler as Veronica, senior Colin Wood as Michael, sophomore Mykala Bazzelle and freshman Terence Christopher Scott as Alan.

“It has been such a delight to work with these four actors,” said McCook. “They are a great ensemble, with varying levels of experience.”

Flagler College’s Department of Theatre Arts discusses potential plays a year or two in advance, changing the genre of plays every year.

“Usually I do something that is more text based with a large cast,” said McCook.

“God of Carnage” will be performed in Lewis Auditorium, 14 Granada St., Oct. 26, 27, 28  and 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 30 at 2 p.m.
