The final minutes couldn’t go any slower for the Flagler women’s basketball team, but when the clock hit zero, they knew Feb. 20 will be a day to remember.
After winning only two games (four overall) last season, the women’s basketball team clinched a Peach Belt Conference playoff berth for the first time ever. The team is having a turnaround season, owning a conference record of 10-8 (13-11 overall). With two games left, they have the opportunity to have a winning season for the first time in five years, according to Head Coach Lang-Montgomery.

Since 1985, Flagler College has had 16 players drafted by major league teams.
In the 2012 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft, three former Saints — Garrett Bush, Jonathon Arnold, and John Sgromolo — were drafted by the Angels, Brewers, and Dodgers respectively.
Arnold, a right-handed pitcher, was drafted in the 30th round by the Milwaukee Brewers. He pitched a combined 15 games (33 innings) between the Helena Brewers of the Pioneer League, and the Brewers in the Arizona League.

The Flagler College lacrosse team won its first game Saturday after beating Stetson University 10-6.
This marks its first win ever since joining as an official club in March of 2012.

The Flagler College Men’s basketball team only won a total of nine games last season.

Pink is here to stay! Flagler College women’s basketball gives a helping hand in raising breast cancer awareness by hosting the Think Pink Event.
The Think Pink Event was created to raise awareness for breast cancer and to receive donations for those who are diagnosed with the disease. This year, all the money raised will be given to Unity Outreach Inc., a local organization in St. Augustine, Fla., that helps families through the process of a breast cancer diagnosis.

Jan. 12, 2013 will mark the 125th anniversary of the opening of the Hotel Ponce de Leon, which is today the centerpiece of Flagler College. The Ponce today houses women’s dorms, the college dining hall and administrative offices. It is also a National Historic Landmark.
