International recruitment helps create successful teams

Expanding recruitment globally creates opportunities for Division II tennis programs, such as Flagler College, to compete at a high level. According to Thomas Hipp, director of tennis at Flagler College, international recruitment is projected to be a large factor in the future success of Flagler College’s Tennis program.


Why I dive: Reclaiming food’s value and joy

It’s hard to see the value in food when you walk past aisles and aisles of it. The overwhelming volume of boxed, canned and processed items strip food of its value. There is more than one reason that local farmer’s markets, community gardens, heirloom fruits and vegetables and seasonal foods have gained in popularity. Meeting your food in this way creates a connection. It adds value that is lost in the industrial, consumerist agricultural system.


“Shorty” Spencer breaks scoring record in loss to Saint Leo

Score one for the record books. In Flagler College women’s basketball 2013-14 season opener Monday, senior point guard Williesha “Shorty” Spencer broke Flagler’s all-time individual record for points scored with 44 points. Heidi Nissen last set the record on Dec. 11, 1991, when she scored 39 points vs Ed. Waters.




Ancient City Stories Bringing Light to St. Augustine Locals

St. Augustine and some of its residents can prove to be very quirky and interesting people. Ancient City Stories is a new series first aired early this October produced by Flagler students and alumni that seeks to shed light on notable St.Augustine locals. The show has been picked up by CW-17 in Jacksonville and airs once a week on Sundays at 6 pm.




Ingrilli, Saints ready for bounce-back year

If you walked by the Flagler College Tennis Complex, you have probably seen the women’s tennis team hard at work getting ready for their upcoming spring season. Now a captain, third-year player Krista Ingrilli is leading the charge and hopes to act as liaison between her teammates and coaches.
