Florida State University beat Georgia Tech University on to win the ACC Championship 37-35. Their continuing trend of winning games in the last few minutes or final drive has many wondering if they deserve to be in the position they currently hold.
Flagler volleyball started the season with some big changes. Matt Affolder was named the new women’s volleyball head coach in March of 2014. Affolder has been coaching college volleyball for 14 years and Flagler College is the first Division II school Affolder has coached.
I remember the first time I called myself fat. I was 15 years old attending my first high school track meet. Thrown into the 400-meter sprint in brand new bun-hugging bikini bottoms, my thighs had been rubbing together for three hours.
In my years competing for the coveted gray shirts, I have learned that students give effort beyond reasonable expectations to become champions of their favorite sport.
Flagler College golfer Spencer Schindler is ranked 6th in the nation for Men’s Division II Golf and his career record is 934-238. But even more impressive is the fact that Schindler is only a sophomore.
Every team has that one special player. For the Flagler Saints baseball team, that player is Jake Brandenberger. Currently entering the fourth and final year of his Saints career, Brandenberger is one of two players remaining from the freshman class of 2011 along with Andrew Castello.

Coach Walter Shinn and Assistant Coach Rachel Gould organized a “kids day” on Nov. 18, a community outreach to get the tennis team involved with the community.
The kids were able to learn and play tennis with the Flagler men and women’s tennis teams. Approximately 20-25 kids age 10 and under participated. It was a free event at it was hosted in the Flagler Tennis complex.

You may have noticed some of the new faces in the athletic department here at Flagler College over the past few weeks, many of them coaches. But there is one new face that is even more important to those new coaches, staff members, and most of all the student athletes here.
She doesn’t call the court or the field her home, her home is the Athletic Training Room. She is the newest Associate Athletic Trainer. Eva Beaulieu joins an already strong athletic training staff with Head Athletic Trainer Jennifer Rinnert and fellow Associate Athletic Trainer JJ Wetherington.
