High fashion meets street style in St. Augustine’s Philosophie Salon & Apothecary located on San Marco Avenue. Drawing inspiration from beauty blogs and street fashion, the salon maintains a creative environment that highlights style and design for every day life.
I’ve always had trouble sleeping. There was always something to keep me up, whether it was a noise outside or just the house settling, my eyes would shoot open and stay that way for most of the night. For the longest time I thought that this affected everyone in the same way. When I was younger it would take me about two hours to be able to relax and drift off into sleep.
My favorite thing about the start of a new school year is getting to buy all new school supplies and arranging my desk just the way I want it.
In May of 1997, a young police officer was on his first day of the job following training. In the afternoon, he had gotten a call about a suspicious drunk man at a bus terminal. When he arrived to speak with him, the man pulled out a gun and pressed it against the officer’s forehead. In training, the officer had been taught what to do in a situation like this. He could swing his arm around in order to hit the man’s hand away from his head; however, doing so would endanger the young children who stood directly behind him.
