She may have two names, but she is one girl who rocks. Miley Cyrus, better known as Hannah Montana has a 2-disc cd set for any person who is willing to unleash their inner child and admit their love for the Disney Channel.

Released this summer, each of the cds included in Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus represents a different side of Miley Cyrus. On the pop star side, Hannah sings songs such as “Make Some Noise” which have uplifting messages directed towards anyone with a dream via acoustic guitar. Another track, “Nobody’s Perfect”, is a vivacious song, expressing the importance of never giving up, and it is one of her most popular.

John Glenn ain’t your average sun-bleached blonde haired surfer kid. Growing up surfing in Ocean Grove, New Jersey, he worked on his barrel riding abilities every winter off the OG Pier. When he became old enough to start working, he began life guarding every summer at the same beach he spent his childhood at; getting to surf a lot on the job too. Eventually picking up several sponsors from Fundamentally Unstable clothing, OG Surf Shop, and Bully’s, you can now find John busting huge front-side airs at Vilano in-between Graphic Design classes. This is where the ‘not so average’ part comes in.

Some started because it was handed down from dad. Some started because it looked like a hobby that could be exciting and new. Some started because all their friends were doing it. Some started because they wanted to connect with the ocean.

The list goes on and on. And no matter the reason for beginning, we as surfers all know that the main attraction to surfing is the enjoyment one achieves by getting to “play” in the ocean. You cannot deny this fact. Think about it for a second: If surfing wasn’t fun, if it was a chore, or something you despised, would you still do it?

The Boss is back! His first album with the E Street Band since 2002’s “The Rising,” Bruce Springsteen bursts back into the musical scene doing what he does best with his 15th energetic rock CD “Magic,” which has already left critics and fans spellbound since its release on Oct. 2.

This is an excellent album that demonstrates musically what Springsteen himself has managed flawlessly: his style is unchanged, yet unquestionably modern and relevant in today’s ever-changing music world. No kidding, I have listened to this album backward and forward 12 times. Here’s why.

This past summer a group of thirteen Spanish studying students from Flagler College went on a semester abroad and trip of a lifetime to Costa Rica. The program was five weeks of Spanish classes in the city campus of Heredia and one week of class on the beach campus in Samara. What went down in between April 26th to June 11th this summer was one of the best times of my life, and the following is the “spark notes” version of my trip.
