Is sleeping with your pet really dangerous?

By Amber James | gargoyle@flagler.edu

They lounge in your favorite chair. They track muddy footprints on the freshly cleaned floor. They even steal your food right off the table if you don’t watch them. And all they leave behind as payment for your love and hospitality is fur on your black clothes.

They’re pets. And Americans love them.

Women’s soccer player Lindsay Zullo bringing success to the pitch

With a casual attitude and a smile on her face, Lindsay Zullo doesn’t look like the competitive, stand out athlete she has been for the Flagler College women’s soccer team.

Zullo, a junior from Hudson, Fla., began playing soccer at the age of four.

“It [soccer] was my favorite when I was a kid,” Zullo said. “I played basketball for a while, but I was kind of too short. I didn’t really make it.”

True Football Fantasy?

By Kylynn Pelkey | gargoyle@flagler.edu
“True fantasy football.” I discovered this little pay-per-view prize while watching TV with my boyfriend several nights ago. A half-hearted grunt of excitement from his side of the couch encouraged me to glance toward the television when I saw a sight that not only surprised me, but shocked me. Lingerie football. How had I never heard of this before? My appalled expression matched my boyfriend’s appreciative one.

Targeted Facebook ads cause concern

By Eugenia Tavarez | gargoyle@flagler.edu

Flagler College junior Keila Davisson recently started shopping online and has been noticing an odd trend in the advertisements she has seen ever since. On her blog, Google searches and other websites visited, Davisson’s advertisements have all curiously featured exactly her favorite bands, brands, and even events going on in her hometown.

Flagler continues strong defense, great offense

By Jeremy Petty | gargoyle@flagler.edu

Flagler Colleges men’s soccer team completed their 13th game on Thursday night when they defeated Saint Xavier, 7-1. Zach Shanahan scored twice for the Saints, while 5 different players each contributed to Flagler’s high goal total.

It’s beginning to look like another promising season for the Saints, with its defense playing a major role in their victories. The one goal given up on Thursday’s match was just the 12th goal allowed. However, the stat looks a little odd when realizing that Flagler has shutout opponents eight times out of its 13 total games. Seven of their goals given up were in a three game streak against Rollins, Lander and Lynn.
