A suspect matching the description of a man who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank downtown on Cathedral Place was found sitting on the fountain outside of the Kenan Hall parking lot by police, according to Flagler College Director of Security Kerry Davis.

After a surge in the second half, the Flagler College men’s basketball team won their opening game Nov. 14 against Webber International University 82-68.
Head Coach Bo Clark said Chad July and Ante Gospic were major contributors in getting the win, along with Jarrod Branco.

The Flagler College women’s basketball team lost its home opener 59-69 on Sunday afternoon to non-conference opponent, Ave Maria. But the team is looking to break with its past and notch more wins this season.

It seems every subsequent election year, most people say to themselves “There’s no way that this could get any more ridiculous,” and I realize four years from now I’ll probably being saying this again as political ads become somehow personalized by our facebook interests. “Hi Bob! I see you you like the Pittsburgh Steelers! I’m Rick Santorum and I love em’ too! I also think that gays are bringing down the moral fiber of our country! Check out my link!”
But so far this Republican primary race has been a spectacle that is both supremely entertaining, while also hinting at the dystopian landscape that politics is starting to turn into.

The Lion and the Mermaid Bookstore is now hosting more than bookshelves.
New owner Mary Ann Hitchcock, is hoping to turn the bookshop into the new weekend hot spot by staying open late for special downtown events, holding live music, book signings and art displays.
