The temperature isn’t the only thing heating up this time of year. The summer concert circuit is heating up as well, especially at the St. Augustine amphitheater. The spring and summer concert line up has something to offer every music lover.
This Friday April 13th country fans can see Martina Mc Bride. For those who would rather be inside a mosh pit, Florida boys of “A Day to Remember” will open for punk rockers “Rise Against.”
The outdoor stadium will see a lot of action in May when “The Beach Boys” will make at stop on the 2nd for their 50th anniversary tour, and a meet and greet with the boys is available. On the 4th “The Fray” will stop by to play their popular power ballads such as “How to save a life.”
Alternative fans are in for a treat when Grammy winning “Wilco” arrives at the amphitheater on May 16th. Their latest album “The Whole Love” was No. 8 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of the 50 best albums of 2011.
Co-headlining on May 27th are Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw before Rock legends “ZZ Top” play on June 8th after openers “3 Doors Down” and Gretchen Wilson warm up the crowd.
On June 29th a real live Beetle comes to the first city. Ringo Starr and his “All Starr Band” will play a collection of all his hits while spreading the message of peace and love that he’s been sending since the 60’s.
“Boston” will rock the stage on July 1st with their classic rock hits including “More than a Feeling.”
Finally, on July 18th the amphitheater will be filled with the sounds of rock-reggae-hip hop fusion when “Slightly Stoopid” opens for “311.”
The St. Augustine Amphitheater is located at 1340 S A1A on Anastasia Island. Tickets for shows can be bought at ticketmaster.com or at the amphitheater box office.
