The Society for Advancement of Management along with Career Services will be holding an event to teach students how to act and behave in stressful interview situations.

The Professional Expectations Etiquette Dinner will teach students how to act in a business dinner setting, and prepare students for tough interviews. The dinner is a five course meal, and throughout the meal, students will receive instructions from Virginia A. Edwards, a Corporate Etiquette and International Protocol Consultant.

“This is a great opportunity for students of any major who are getting ready to enter the job market,” Melissa Hall, Vice President of Public Relations for SAM, said.

The dinner will be held November 5 at 7 p.m. at the Bayfront Hilton. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the table in the gazebo, Career Services or online at https://www.myinterfase.com/flagler/student/home.aspx.
Hall said more and more interviews and business transactions are done in restaurants and over meals, and this dinner can help give you the advantage of knowing how to act in these types of situations.

“Good etiquette won’t get you the job, but it could cost you the job,” Hall said.

Hall said an incentive is being offered to students to encourage participation. Two students will receive a full $20 refund through a raffle. At least half the ticket price will be refunded to every student who attends. There is also a chance to win and iPod shuffle or gift certificates to Outback or Target.

The last day to purchase tickets is October 29.
