You can’t go to New Orleans without stopping by the notorious Café du Monde Coffee Stand on the French Quarter.

Crowds from around the world are drawn to the café for their famous beignets, a square doughnut topped with powdered sugar.

Café du Monde beignets have been a New Orleans staple since the café opened in 1862.

You can enjoy the sweet treats while you sip coffee and listen to local jazz musicians playing in the French Quarter.

The café is open 24 hours and seven days a week. It’s the perfect place to go, whether you’ve been out on Bourbon Street all night, or you want a mid-afternoon snack after strolling around the French Market.

I’ve been going to Café du Monde Coffee Stand since I was a child. I can tell you from experience that no trip to New Orleans is complete without a visit to the café for some beignets and chocolate milk!
