Post-election analysis takes center stage at next Flagler Forum

Paul West, Washington bureau chief for the Baltimore Sun, will be the next speaker in the 2008-2009 Flagler College Forum on Government and Public Policy.

West will speak Nov. 13, at 7 p.m., in the Flagler College Auditorium. His topic will be “How the White House Was Won.”

By the time West speaks, the 2008 presidential race will be decided. He will focus on what transpired over the course of this historic election.

As a lead reporter on the 2008 presidential campaign, West covered the White House contenders in both parties from the earliest primary and caucus contests through the general election campaign.

In previous years, he covered the campaigns and administrations of Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan.

West has also written for a variety of magazines, including “The New Republic,” “Rolling Stone” and “Washingtonian.” He’s appeared as a guest on NBC, PBS’ News Hour, C-SPAN, MSNBC, Fox News and other networks.

The Sun’s Washington Bureau Chief since 1992, West has been rated by “Washingtonian Magazine” as one of the top 50 journalists in Washington.

All forums take place in the Flagler College Auditorium, 14 Granada St., at 7 p.m. Forums are free and open to the public, but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign language interpreters are provided.
