One more summer music festival: Blackwater

By Phillip C. Sunkel IV | gargoyle@flagler.edu

With a new a semester looming just over the horizon, possibilities for summer music festivals are almost running out.

Thankfully for students across Florida, there is one more festival to take a look at.

The Blackwater Music Festival will be held Aug. 26-28 in Live Oak at the Suwannee Music Park. It will host a number of small bands and a handful of headlining names such as Slightly Stoopid.

Also playing will be Sound Tribe Sector 9, JJ Grey & Mofro and Michael Franti & Spearhead.

Blackwater will be held at one of Florida’s most impressive music venues.

Suwannee Music Park boasts ample room for camping, miles of access to the river and plenty of space to wander and make new friends.

This will be the first year that the festival is being held, and should be as successful as the other festivals held at Suwannee.
