The Flagler College Security Office will be conducting a test of a new emergency alert system on Dec. 17 at 11 a.m.
This system uses speakers placed on one of the towers of Ponce Hall and the FEC Residence Hall buildings on Malaga Street to issue coded alerts to the campus.
Alerts will be issued in severe weather and other emergency situations as necessary. More information on the stystem and what to do in the event of an alert will be distributed to the campus in the coming weeks.
Any student or employee in the area on Dec. 17 may hear these alerts and should be aware that is only a test of the system.
