In a city such as St. Augustine, you may find yourself wondering what exactly to do with your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day. On a big day like Feb. 14, you are perhaps already stressed out enough, deciding who to take out, what to wear and what kind of gift to get your significant other.
There’s no reason to have added concern about finding something to do. So here is your insider tip on where to go and what to do this Valentine’s Day. First off, the biggest and most talked about restaurant is Café 11, located on St. Augustine Beach across from the Castillo Royale.
They will be hosting a special five-course meal at a low price of $36 per person. The first course will be an appetizer, either baked herb bruchetta or blue crab amuse bouche. Second, either a roasted tomato soup or white asparagus bisque. Next, enjoy your choice of salad followed by a main course of steak, fish or ravioli. To top it off, treat yourself to a delicious dessert of either a molten chocolate soufflé or red raspberry peach crisp with ice cream. If this sounds good to you, call (904) 460-9311 to make a reservation.
For those of you who wish to do something a little more extravagant for that special someone, St. Augustine Helicopter Tours will be offering Valentine’s Day Specials as well. For $149, two passengers can take the Porpoise Point and Old Downtown Tour, which covers the Intracoastal Waterway to the coastline, then over the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, Flagler College and other historical monuments before swinging back over the coast. Tours are approximately 30-60 minutes and cover a wide range of St. Augustine depending on which tour you choose. Call (904) 824-5506 for more information.
For more money-conscious college students, The Limelight Theatre on Old Mission Avenue is having a special production, “Soulful Sounds: The Music and Songs of Sam Cooke.” This will be a one man musical revue to tribute Sam Cooke. Songs will include “You Send Me,” “I Love You for Sentimental Reasons,” and more. Call (904) 825-1164 for reservations.
