The Saints advanced to the semifinals of the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 1, after shutting out USC Aiken 4-0.

Flagler College remains 3-0 in Peach Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinals since joining the league in 2009.

After a scoreless first half, Eammon Murphy scored the first goal off of a lofted pass from Johan Bergfeld, slamming it into the bottom right corner of the goal.

Steven Campbell, the Pacers forward, was forced to sit for the rest of the game after his second yellow card was given in the 58th minute.

Pol Berenguer lobbed the second goal for Flagler over the head of the opposing goalie off of a through pass by Zach Shanahan.

Adding his team-leading 10th goal of the season, Mack Hough kicked in a deflected save in the 84th minute. Assist was credited to Marco Padilla.

With 56 seconds left to play, Padilla scored his own goal, beating the keeper to the lower left corner after a loose ball from the top of the penalty box.

Saint’s Camp Bissell recorded his eighth shutout of the season on Tuesday, and tallied two saves. Robert Bolender played for 82 minutes and recorded three saves for the Pacers. Corey Pitts substituted for the rest of the game and saved one.

After beating Clayton State University 3-2 in the Peach Belt Conference Semifinals, Flagler will now be playing the University of Montevallo Sunday, Nov. 6th, in the Peach Belt Conference Finals.
