This weekend marks the start of the 29th annual Lincolnville Festival in St. Augustine.
The festival celebrates the history of Lincolnville. It offers attendants a selection of ethnic foods and live music, ranging from jazz to blues.
Greg White, Chairman of the 2009 Lincolnville Festival, is very excited for the event. “If a person wants to test their taste buds, we have the best barbeque in northeast Florida at this festival and live music all three days,” White said.
This year is the second time that the festival will be held at Francis Field, on West Castillo Drive. White said this move is an effort to attract more people to the festival. White hopes the venue will draw tourists and students towards the festivities in addition to the locals.
The festival is open to everyone in the community, and students and tourists are encouraged to join the weekend festivities.
The festival runs Friday Nov. 6 from 5 to 10 p.m., Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Nov. 8 from 1 to 6 p.m. The festival will be held at Francis Field, just north of campus, next to the parking garage.
