The Flagler College Department of Theatre Arts has kicked off the month with its spring musical “Kiss Me, Kate,” a Tony-Award-winning playwright with music and lyrics by Cole Porter.
“Kiss Me, Kate” tells the story of four performers whose fates intertwine in a quirky, comedic and unconventional manner, starring Kia Miller as Kate, Justin Register as Petruchio, John Labman as Gremio and Maria Helfrich as Lois.
The show opened exclusively for students on March 1. “Opening night was great” says Michael Stingle, guitar player for the show and student at Flagler College. “I was really surprised that the students thought it was funny, especially since the next night, the adults in the audience were laughing just as much.”
Tickets for the show are $20 and can be purchased by cash or check inside the Flagler College Auditorium, located at 14 Granada Street.
“Kiss Me, Kate” started showing in the Flagler College Auditorium on March 2, 3 and 4, and will continue performances through March 10.
