Flagler confirmed two more student cases of H1N1 (swine flu), bringing the total confirmed cases to three.
Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs Yvan Kelly confirmed the two additional students with H1N1 are off campus residents. Kelly also said there are 10 students exhibiting flu-like symptoms now.
The first student who tested positive for H1N1 is a male residing on the first floor of Cedar Hall.
College Nurse Holly Hagler said the department has some nasal swab tests available now but Kelly said the three students that tested positive went to off campus health facilities.
“We did one test [in Health Services] and it came back negative,” Hagler said. “They are expensive, so we probably won’t be testing many more students.”
To avoid getting sick, Hagler advised students to “wash your hands” and practice “social distancing.”
Kelly said one of the originally quarantined students is already back in classes.
