Flagler College Television had the privilege of interviewing Helen Whitney, Oscar nominated, Emmy and Peabody Award winning film director, writer and producer.
Throughout her career, her work has centered around the theme of spiritual journeys. A few examples include: “The Monastery,” a 90-minute ABC special about the oldest Trappist community in the Americas; “The Mormons,” a four-hour PBS series about exploring the Mormon faith; and her four hour PBS series “Forgiveness; A Time to Love and a Time to Hate,” where she looked at various perspectives of forgiveness and filmed around the globe.
We spoke with her about how her prolific career has shaped the way she views the world, and we discussed her most recent two-hour PBS special, “Into the Night: Portraits of Life and Death,” which aired in Spring of 2018.
