Cruelty free style

High fashion meets street style in St. Augustine’s Philosophie Salon & Apothecary located on San Marco Avenue. Drawing inspiration from beauty blogs and street fashion, the salon maintains a creative environment that highlights style and design for every day life.

Philosophie primarily offers hair services, cutting, coloring and styling.

“We try to make it wearable and easy,” shop owner Jenna Thorpe said.

Both the salon and shop offer cruelty free products.

“We really only bring on products that are eco-conscious and cruelty free,” Thorpe said.

None of the products are tested on animals and most are sulfate, gluten and paraben free. Hand-milled soap, carcinogen free nail lacquers, shaving supplies, bath soaks and face and body care products, are just a few items that the apothecary showcases.

“We choose to do business a little differently,” Thorpe said. “We want to be conscious and thoughtful in everything we do. We like to be as on point with fashion and style as we can.”
