Sit and Talk with Jake

Local band, The Showdown District, is on the rise. Recently, the band was hand picked by Illumina Records to be part of a compilation CD that will be sold nationally.

Comprised of four long-time friends, the band has incredible chemistry that leads to its catchy laid-back sound. Jake Sulzer sat down with the group at the Lightner Museum to discuss their CD “Welcome to Lincolnville” and their upcoming shows in Orlando and Jacksonville.

Flagler dance team qualifies for nationals

Flagler College’s dance team, “The Blaze,” made history on Nov. 3, as the first Flagler dance team to qualify to compete on the national level, when the Universal Dance Association announced the qualifying collegiate teams for the National Dance Team Competition.

Junior Jonathan Lawrence wants to make good music, and with two local musicians, his band Matlock has been just that. Since June the band has been playing the Jacksonville area,and released their first CD, Destroys the World.





Volleyball highlights

The Flagler Lady Saints volleyball team defeated the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Sept. 26. The Lady Saints rolled to a sweep victory. They were led by the hitting of Justine Burkhardt who had 15 kills.
