It’s a sunny afternoon during the recent 450th anniversary celebration of the founding of St. Augustine, no clouds in sight and a light breeze is coming off the Intracoastal Waterway. A women clears her throat and the interrogation begins. As she begins to ask questions that are beyond the ordinary realms of human comprehension, heart rates pick up, palms get sweaty and words start tumbling out of mouths.
Losing a home opener to start off a season that was arguably filled with the highest expectations in recent memory isn’t easy, but that changed when the women’s volleyball team fell to Sioux Falls. While most programs would re-evaluate and think about what kind of season lied ahead, Coach Matt Affolder and his seniors charged into the Flagler Invite where they defeated every team put in front of them decisively.
