CORRECTION: PRSSA announces STAND 2009

Flagler College’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter is hosting its STAND 2009 event on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.

PRSSA said this event raises money as well as awareness for the Flagler Hospital Cancer Resource Center, an organization dedicated to the education, research and support of cancer patients. Music, food and raffles will also be provided, PRSSA said.




SGA cancels meeting, cites events for reason

Student Government Association cancelled its meeting tonight.

In an e-mail, SGA President David Matulewicz recognized there were several events occurring. He didn’t want SGA members to have to choose between them.

These events include: men’s soccer game, etiquette dinner and the scholarship dinner.



Short SGA meeting had a lot to say

All clubs approved by Council except for Kiteboarding

David Matulewicz, Student Government Association President, held a less than 15-minute SGA meeting this Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The agenda read: Committee reports, Board reports and general announcements.

During the President’s report, Matulewicz announced, “all the clubs that we approved through the Student Government have been approved by the President’s Advisory Council, so they are now officially clubs, with the exception of the Kiteboarding Club.”

Phi Alpha Omega kicks off awareness month

Phi Alpha Omega, a women’s service club on campus, is holding a “Save Second Base” kickball tournament Saturday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. to raise breast cancer awareness among students during the month of October.

Phi Alpha Omega recognizes the importance of breast cancer awareness and will be holding multiple events throughout the month.
