Brother and sister excelling for Flagler’s soccer teams

Flagler College men’s and women’s soccer players Cameron and Brittany Will’s lives have always revolved around soccer.

Cameron and Brittany began playing soccer at the age of five, using their older sister and father who played soccer as an inspiration.

“I always loved watching them play, and it’s one of those family things where you see how successful your siblings are in something, and you just admire it and hope to do the same,” Brittany said.

Cameron was standout-out four-year letterman soccer player at Pine Ridge High School in Deltona, Florida.

As a senior, he scored 21 goals and tallied eight assists, helping him achieve a first-team all-county selection.

Cameron received a scholarship to play soccer with the Saints of Flagler College.

“When he received his scholarship it was so admirable and showed that hard work really does pay off,” Brittany said.

As a freshman and sophomore at Flagler, Cameron’s excelled on the soccer field, as did his younger sister back home in Deltona.

As a junior at Deltona High School, Brittany scored 15 goals and tallied eight assists. Brittany said she knew if she had a good senior year, she had the talent to play soccer at the college level.

As a senior, she helped lead her team to a district title. Brittany decided it was best if she attended Flagler to play opposite her brother.

“It was good to see her hard work pay off. It was going to be nice to have family so close,” Cameron said.

Cameron, currently a senior, has played a instrumental role in the team’s success this year. Last week, he helped the Saints clinch their second Peach Belt Conference title in three years.

“Watching him play has made me so proud,” Brittany said.

Brittany, currently a sophomore, has helped her team to a winning record. This season, she scored her first goal in her college career against Armstrong Atlantic.

“Even though she is a defender, and has been playing college soccer for half the time I have, she somehow managed to score a goal before me,” Cameron said.
