Ban Bossy: PC Police Strike Again

The list of words we’re no longer allowed to say is growing at an exceptional rate. The newest one? Bossy.

The front page of the “Ban Bossy” website says, “When a little boy asserts himself, he’s called a ‘leader.’ Yet when a little girl does the same, she risks being branded ‘bossy.’ Words like bossy send a message: don’t raise your hand or speak up. By middle school, girls are less interested in leading than boys—a trend that continues into adulthood. Together we can encourage girls to lead.”

“Ban Bossy” is the newest rendition of the elitist campaign against free speech (and using your brain in general). The stewards of political correctness have added yet another word that we’re not allowed to say.

The official statement reeks of absurdity. Hollywood (the people who clearly know what’s best for our lives) is now telling us that we must refrain from calling girls bossy because it effectively discourages them to be ambitious leaders.

I have to wonder. Do secular humanists ever get tired of trying to convince females they’re victims? I think this campaign itself is demeaning to women. Are we as women so stupid that we’re going to go cry under our blankets and quit on an ambitious career because someone told us we were bossy? America is the land of opportunity. If being called bossy is going to stop you from chasing your life’s dreams, there’s clearly an underlying issue that needs to be addressed.

A group of leaders in Washington and Hollywood came together to create a lovely PSA explaining why the word bossy is just plain hurtful.

“Be brave. Be you.” Yes. Take this from Beyonce. The over glamorized poster woman of female empowerment. The woman who clearly has something against pants. The woman, who almost in every music video, sends the message that women are only worth something if they sexually sell themselves to a man. Some of the less disturbing lyrics in her new song, Partition include, “Take all of me, I just want to be the girl you like.” I’m not even going to write any more lyrics because they’re all disgusting and incredibly inappropriate. But hey, Beyonce: female empowerment spokeswoman. Nearly every song sends the message that girls are only cool if they sleep with as many men as possible. It’s the root of self worth, but darn it, don’t you dare call her bossy. She’s just one of the delusional Hollywood elitists living in a self-induced fantasy.

I’m perplexed. We’re at the mercies of Hollywood’s whims and emotions. They feel like a word is mean? Bam. They alter the English language.

To be truthful, this isn’t about them caring about women leaders. This isn’t about them fearing for the future of little girls. This is about control. After all, that’s what political correctness is all about.

One of my personal heroes and rising star speaking out against political correctness, Dr. Ben Carson, put it this way in his recent address at CPAC:

“The problem is they have been beaten into submission. You know, the PC police and all these people, and people are afraid to speak up for what they believe,” he said.

“And you know one of the principles of Saul Alinksy, he said you make the majority believe that what they think is outdated and nobody thinks that way, and that the way that they think is the only way intelligent people think. [and] If you can co-opt the media in the process, you’re far ahead of the game.” He added, “That’s exactly what’s happened, and it’s time for people to stand up and proclaim what they believe and stop being bullied.”

The American elite (and by that I mean political parties, Hollywood, and the media) wants to control what comes out of your mouth. They see themselves as the arbiters of morality, and if you refuse to abide, they label you.

Seriously. Don’t be bullied by the PC police. Take a stand on the “wussification” of America.

Political correctness hinders the free exchange of ideas. This is on purpose. The mainstream media doesn’t want to hear your ideas. They don’t want truth to come out. They don’t want to be challenged.

“Being labeled something matters,” Jennifer Garner said.

“I think they word ‘bossy’ is just a squasher.” Jane Lynch said.

The ad compiles many of these PC advocates saying, ”By middle school, girls are less interested in leadership than boys. And that’s because they worry about being called bossy.”

Really? Girls are afraid to speak their mind and be leaders because they’re scared of being called bossy? I have to disagree. Maybe they’re weary because of the backlash from the PC police. Maybe they’re scared of being labeled as a racist, bigot, homophobe or idiot.

These people only want you to speak your mind if you agree with their line of thinking. If you don’t they’ll label you. How ironic.

America, please don’t fall for this nonsense. Women, we’re strong individuals. We don’t need a PC ad campaign giving lame excuses of why we’re too afraid to be leaders. Just be one. And Hollywood? Stop bossing me around.
