Their indie/rock collection of music makes you want drive all day with their CD in the player. The beach feel from many of the songs will appeal to many students and the album is released at a perfect time to ready us for spring break.
The music has songs with a soft beat and others that make you want to jump up and down. The awesome guitar skills of the band are superior in “Red Light Indicates Doors Are” as well as many other songs. Arctic Monkeys are the perfect blend of pure talent and artistic skills in the music industry.
This album is a going in the right direction for the future of music. It is not like any other band out there now. It is a breath of fresh air to finally have an album where all the songs do not blend together or start all with the same drum beat.
Arctic Monkey’s debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not hit the stores Jan. 23. Their album became the U.K.’s all-time fasting selling debut album. They played sold out gigs across Europe and are coming to America in March. The band consists of Alex Turner: guitar, vocals; Jamie Cook: guitar; Andy Nicholson: bass; and Matt Helders: drums. The first single “I Bet You Look Good on the Dance floor” went straight to number one on U.K. Singles Chart.
