The Pink Floyd Dome took over the Flagler College student center on Monday, Feb. 15.
The dome, set up between the pool room and the Gamache-Koger room, played a series of Pink Floyd music complete with a view of psychedelic imagery to accompany it. The Campus Activities Board featured albums including The Dark Side of The Moon, The Wall and Entranced as well as music from artists such as Audioslave, U2 and Coldplay.
“CAB tries to bring the students of Flagler the best possible entertainment we can come up with,” said CAB director of student performances, Daniel Lonergan, “I think it was a great success. We have over 115 people come in.”
Discussions for the Pink Floyd Dome began last semester in the CAB room. Word spread slowly over campus and the dome began to get a lot of buzz. The event was met with great enthusiasm from the student body.
Harold “Pinky” Hood went to the dome with a group of friends. “It was okay, though not my type of music,” he said.
Another student who visted the dome, Emma Rusnak, really enjoyed it. “It was sick!” she said.
The next big thing the student body can expect from the student performances committee of CAB is a vertical wind tunnel. The wind tunnel will be located in the FEC parking lot sometime in early April.
