Through the photo lens: St. Augustine Beach

St. Augustine Beach is usually mobbed with people — tourists, swimmers, surfers and dog walkers. Because of this, most people only see it as a crowded wasteland rather than what it actually is: a place of serenity and natural beauty. This series captures both the calmness and beauty of St. Augustine Beach, as well as the sense of community the beach creates. It’s something I witnessed when a group of strangers came together to rescue an injured pelican that was caught up in a fishing line. It is a side of St. Augustine Beach that not everyone gets the chance to see.
