After a week long campaign and two separate elections,  Donn Garby was named Student Government Association President for the 2015-2016 school year.

With a passion for politics, Garby has served on Flagler’s SGA since freshman year.

“One of my biggest plans for next year is to re-open the connection between the students and the faculty, staff and administration”, Garby said.

Garby intends to meet with different departments on campus and have representatives meet with students on a weekly basis.

The new president also wants to make SGA more approachable for students and organizations on campus.

“The Student Government Association is here not only for the students, but for the clubs and organizations. I want them to see that we are a resource they can come to” Garby said.

“The students elected me because they believe in me and what I can do for them. Their trust and respect is the thing that I hold most dear to me”.

Serving on the SGA Executive Board alongside Garby is vice president Daniel Hillyard, secretary Abby Spencer, and treasurer Kerri Smetana.
