Movie filmed at Flagler to hit theaters this spring
By Alison McCauslin
There is no defining college moment quite like coming out of the dorms, sleepily disoriented, and finding a movie crew taping down spot light cords while calling for quiet on the set. In 2004, segments of the movie “Celestine Prophecy,” based on the book by James Redfield, were shot here in downtown St. Augustine. Many familiar locations were used, including the rotunda of Ponce Hall, an area behind the Lightner Museum, and down an alley by A1A Ale Works.
Now two years later, the movie has been tweaked to completion and is ready to come out April 21 in select cities. For more information on the film, go to www.celestineprophecymovie.com. The site gives a synopsis of the movie, biographies for both the cast as well as the filmmakers, movie trailers, news and updates and more.
The movie is rated PG, due to some violence, and stars Matthew Settle, Thomas Kretschmann, as well as Hector Elizondro.
