Flagler College’s single-season scoring record now belongs to Williesha “Shorty” Spencer, who also bagged her 1,000th career point in a 72-69 win over Georgia Regents University Augusta Saturday — the final Peach Belt Conference regular season finale for the women’s basketball team.

Flagler will head into next week’s Peach Belt Conference Tournament at Columbus, Ga., with a three-win streak, and the Saints are 12-14 overall record and 10-9 mark in the PBC’s East Division.

Flagler will be the No. 2 seed in the East in the tournament and will face Columbus State University on March 6. GRU Augusta finished its season with a 9-17 overall record.

Spencer broke Tara Teague’s 1997-98 record of 514. She is also only the fifth player to reach the career 1,000-point mark in the history of the program.
