Flagler College’s dance team, “The Blaze,” made history on Nov. 3, as the first Flagler dance team to qualify to compete on the national level, when the Universal Dance Association announced the qualifying collegiate teams for the National Dance Team Competition.
After submitting a video of their routine, “The Blaze” is ranked 24th out of 31 college teams and will be competing in the semi-finals at Disney’s Wide World of Sports facility in Orlando, Fla., January 12-14, 2007.
As an NCAA Div. II college, the team will compete in an open division against teams such as Orange Coast College (2006 champions) and Indiana University Southeast.
