Can’t fight this feeling…

By Lauren Belcher | cbelcher@flagler.edu

Webster’s dictionary defines a void as: not occupied; vacant; not inhabited; deserted; containing nothing. That sounds about right.
I define a void as: sadness; depression; loneliness; fear; defeat.

For as long as I can remember, I have tried to fill the void. I’m always trying to keep myself distracted so I won’t feel like I’m alone.

It starts when I go home. I check Facebook and I have no new notifications. I check my e-mail and see that no one needs me for anything.

My homework is complete, my house is tidy…The panic sets in.

The Spice of Life

I’ve always enjoyed variety.

When I was young, I loved trying all different kinds of food and sampling various hobbies to see if they struck a chord. My family and I traveled all over the country on vacations, and sometimes out of America as well. My life was filled with a spectrum of activities from art to sports to music to video games.

Faith is my Middle Name

I was confirmed as an adult in the Catholic Church when I was 15 years old.

Baptized as a baby, I had always believed in God. There was never a time when I didn’t. But receiving Confirmation demanded even more profundity from a teenager who was already profound.

What’s Haute: Diary of a Flagler Fashionisto

A communication major, Ethan Reynolds, loves his clothes. From polos to jeans, totes to shoes, this boy knows style. The bubbly sophomore invited me into his AMAZING closet. These are a few things I learned about him.

  1. He has an eye for fashion
  2. He has an obsession with fabulous bags
  3. His closet is like a candy store for fashionistas

After taking a tour of his fashion, I was fortunate enough to interview the 20 year old.
